The United Kingdom and Germany have announced a new collaboration to develop a long-range precision strike missile.
The announcement, made last Thursday (15), is part of the Trinity House Agreement, signed in October 2024. The agreement established the first bilateral defense cooperation framework between the two nations.
With a range of up to 2,000 km, the weapon will be among the most advanced systems designed by the UK, aiming to enhance NATO’s deterrence capability and support national security, according to the Ministry of Defence.
In addition to the announcement, made during the first Trinity House Defence Ministerial Council, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius and UK Defence Secretary John Healey also discussed how Trinity House is strengthening European security and driving economic development.
“The UK and Germany have never been closer, and the Trinity House Agreement is already making a positive impact on our security and economy. This partnership is helping us make defense a driver of growth – creating jobs, developing skills, and boosting investment in the UK and Germany,” said Healey.
